The First

I got a box of my books today.

They have my name on them.

It really is the craziest thing. All these years I have waited to see that and suddenly, I’m holding it in my hands and watching the curving font forming the letters that make up my name. I still can’t get over that initial thrill. Also, the lingering terror. That now people other than myself and closest friends and family will read it. Or worse. That they won’t. Oh, the agony. Suffice it to say, this was a very, very exciting day.

I’ll be writing posts on here as much as I am able. Usually about writing (sometimes my own, more likely the superior writing of others). I may happen to comment occasionally on life, the weather, how adorable my newborn baby is, or even the peculiarities of my pet dog, Sam. Who knows? It’ll be a fun guessing game. Feel free to play along. And by play along, I mean read indulgently while I narcissistically ramble away about whatever I like. (Yikes).

Anyway, my name is Brittlyn Gallacher Doyle. I’ve been writing since I was five and I use far too many commas. I like fairy tales and naps in the sunshine and strawberry shortcake. And I will do my very best to be semi interesting and never, ever take myself too seriously. You have my word. And with that you’ll just have to be content.
